“From Silence to Storytelling” – One Mother’s Journey with Her Son’s Sound Sensitivity

When Sophie first brought her four-year-old son Tommy to the Intelisten program, they were navigating a world of uncertainty. Tommy, a bright and sensitive little boy, was almost entirely nonverbal—using no more than 6 to 8 words. His sleep was disrupted by frequent awakenings and crying, and his days were filled with emotional and behavioral challenges. After more than two years of various tests and interventions, progress had been slow, and hope was wearing thin.

But that all began to shift after one key decision.

“Initially, we were skeptical,” Sophie admits. “But we had nothing to lose, and everything to gain.” Under the guidance of Beata, they completed a comprehensive assessment and received customized audio training tailored to Tommy’s needs. Though the family had hoped to join a group program, they completed the sessions at home, and it worked beautifully.

To their surprise, noticeable changes began during the training itself.

Tommy’s movements became more confident and coordinated, especially on the playground where he had previously avoided certain equipment due to balance difficulties. He started speaking more, using new words and proper beginnings, gradually forming complete sentences. Most touching of all, Sophie shares, “Now he tells stories – and can express his feelings and thoughts with words.”

Beyond speech, the transformation reached every corner of their lives. Tommy began sleeping more peacefully. His reactions to daily stimuli softened. His behavior became more balanced and socially connected. He was no longer overwhelmed in his preschool environment and began engaging with peers more naturally.

We see these changes as a miracle,” Sophie says. “There was no other intervention during this time. These improvements are clearly linked to the auditory training.

Today, Sophie is not only a grateful parent – she’s also an advocate. She’s recommended the program to families in her circle and even their speech therapist now refers others after witnessing Tommy’s progress.

“Our world has completely changed,” Sophie concludes. “And we’re so thankful to Beata and the Intelisten training for making that possible.”
